It had been a long standing dream of mine to hold an exhibition in Sri Lanka, of my photography from around the world. This dream became a reality on 1st March 2013, when I held my first exhibition in Sri Lanka at the Lionel Wendt Gallery in Colombo (opening on 1st March and open to the public on 2nd and 3rd March 2013) where I displayed photos from Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and other parts of the world.
I titled this exhibition “Following My Dream” as that was exactly what I did, and made it a reality!
The photos I displayed covered landscapes, wildlife, birdlife and underwater scenes. Being a PADI Certified Advanced Diver and having an absolute love for everything underwater since my childhood, especially sharks, I found that the selection of underwater photos I exhibited, to be closest to my heart.
The chief guest at the opening of my exhibition in Sri Lanka was Justice, Hon. (Mrs) Shiranee Thilakawardene, a much respected High Court Judge and my Guest of Honour was the nationally and internationally acclaimed Sri Lankan Film Director, Cinematographer, Author and photographer, Dr. D. B. Nihalsinghe.
I was humbled by the positive response I received from all those who attended my exhibition and purchased my photos. Each and every photo on display was a labour of love, patience and dedication and those photos were a reflection of my absolute love and respect for nature in all its glory.
My thanks go out to all those who encouraged and supported me in realising my dream! THANK YOU!
